Child abuse is a very common practice but does not come out of the closed doors until the child dies. It is a mental illness which kept hidden. Almost all the people in jail and drug addicts in the streets are the victims of child abuse back in their childhood. Communication skills are very important for your professional and personal life, and these things you learn first of all from your family. But if you know that you are going to be treated badly or insultingly how can you open up your mouth? Verbal abuse is a type of abuse which is less noticeable. This is being neglected by the society because it has no physical scars or ailments like in sexual and physical abuse. The damage of verbal abuse is very deep and profound. As it effects on the child physical and mental health and mark strong threats to the person's future There are three types of verbal child abuse one is insulting a person, second is scolding or yelling at a person and third is torturing a person with the tongue. Unfortunately this type of child abuse is not considered as a serious problem but it can be disastrous. We can understand it by this example of a child who is being insulted and reprimanded because he has broken a glass or something. Parents take it as a means of discipline and correction. As a result a child would be hesitant in future to do anything which has a threat of being wrong. He will loose his confidence and a sense of doing anything new and productive. A study suggests that a verbal child abuse can disturb the hormones in the nervous system and weaken the immune system. As a result a child becomes more vulnerable to the diseases. Psychological side effects can be seen by the sadist sort of personality of a child who torture others, get easily exasperate on small issues, beat his or her spouse after marriage and so on. Yet most of the people actually consider this type of abuse serious. According to the study by U.N. in 2006 every other child is being verbally abused. This fact is alarming and this is our duty to spread awareness about it and to prevent it.
There is strong need to prevent this issue by educating people about its terrible after effects that can be damaging to the child's own life and to the society as well. The effects whether less or more will last forever until unless there would be strong emotional healing. |
